ZEN(禪) - 백법(白法)석굴암본존불 장지에 은분, 호분 185×185cm 2018백색의 공간에 불상이 존재한다. 색이 없는 이 공간은 무한의 공간이다. 시간적 공간이 찰나로 각인되는 자연을 그렸던 작가는 시각적 공간의 깊이를 화면에 담기 위하여 오브제로 불상의 얼굴을 그렸다. 관람자를 위에서 내려 보았던 불상의 얼굴은 보는 이의 눈높이에 위치한다. 또렷한 형태의 오브제는 관람자의 걸음에 따라 독특한 환영(illusion)을 보여준다. 시선에서 사라지는 대상은 수평의 움직임에 따라 무한의 거리감으로 눈앞에 드러난다. 실재가 환영이 되고 환영이 실재가 되는 순간 대상과 나의 심리적 공간이 펼쳐진다.
❊백법(白法)은 번뇌가 완전히 소멸된 상태를 말한다.
A figure of Budda exists in a white space. This space with no color is an infinite space imprinted at the very moment describes the face of Budda as an object to express the depth of visual space. The face of Budda which look down the viewer is now positioned at the level of viewer’s eyes. The clear shape of the object shows a unique illusion along with the viewer’s walks. The target that disappeared from the viewer’s gaze comes into view with limitless sense of distance depending on the horizontal movement. In the moment that existence becomes illusion and illusion becomes existence, psychological space of the target and me opens out.
